What to Do in a Roofing Emergency
Follow these steps immediately if your roof is leaking or has been damaged — then call us straight away
Catch the Water
Place buckets or towels to catch drips. Move furniture, electricals and valuables away from the leak area immediately.
Safety First
Keep away from wet electrical fittings and damaged ceilings. Seek advice from a qualified electrician. Never access the roof yourself.
Call Us Now
Call 0191 468 3081 to explain the damage and discuss current repair availability and safe access.
Document It
If safe, photograph visible damage from a safe location. Ask your insurer what documentation they need before arranging claim-related work.
Storm Damage Roof Repair North East
The North East experiences some of the harshest weather in England — Atlantic storms, gale-force winds, and prolonged heavy rainfall that can cause serious damage to roofs across the region. When a storm hits, tiles and slates can blow off in large numbers, ridge tiles can be dislodged, lead flashings lifted, and chimney stacks weakened or toppled. The damage can happen in minutes, but the consequences — water ingress, ceiling collapse, structural damage — can unfold over hours and days if not dealt with immediately.
We assess storm damage across Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, South Shields, Jarrow, Hebburn and Wallsend. Temporary protection or permanent repairs depend on the damage, safe access, weather and available materials. Contact us to discuss attendance arrangements.
Insurance cover depends on your policy and the insurer's assessment. Confirm their requirements before arranging claim-related work. Call 0191 468 3081 to discuss a roof assessment and a property-specific repair quote.
Emergency Roof Leak Repair North East
Roof leaks can stain ceilings, wet insulation and damage timbers or plasterwork. Water may travel between its entry point and where it becomes visible inside. INFINITE Roofing has 15+ years of roofing experience and provides leak assessments and repairs across the North East.
Possible leak sources include damaged flashing, missing tiles or slates, deteriorated underlay, blocked valleys and cracked ridge mortar. Assessment helps determine the cause and suitable repair options.
For properties in Newcastle, Gateshead, Jarrow, and Hebburn, call 0191 468 3081 to discuss the leak and current availability.
Emergency Tarping & Temporary Repairs
Where permanent repairs need further materials or access equipment, temporary protection may be an option. Suitability depends on the roof damage, weather and safe access; temporary covering is not a substitute for the required permanent work.
Temporary covering needs suitable fixing and drainage arrangements for the particular roof. Do not try to fit a tarp yourself; roof access and damaged structures can be dangerous.
We also assess leaking felt, EPDM and GRP flat roofs. If a garage, extension or porch roof is leaking, call 0191 468 3081 to discuss repair options and current availability.
Storm Damage Insurance Claims
If you intend to make an insurance claim, contact your insurer to confirm cover, required documentation and any approval needed before work begins. Photograph visible damage only where it is safe to do so.
We can discuss documenting visible roof damage and providing a repair quote. Confirm with your insurer whether the proposed assessment and documentation meet their requirements; acceptance is their decision.
Call 0191 468 3081 to discuss storm damage, current availability and the scope of an assessment. Insurance decisions and claim outcomes remain with your insurer.
